Chairman of the Board

William Ross began his 30-year career in healthcare technology as an executive for SensorMedics Critical Care.  Initially involved in the sales and marketing of their respiratory care product lines, he later drove major business development efforts and guided several key acquisitions in the U.S. and Europe. Ascending to the position of president, he shepherded the organization through acquisitions by Thermo Electron and the subsequent spin-off of VIASYS Healthcare, where he served as interim CEO and later COO. Mr. Ross holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Idaho, and an M.S. in biomedical engineering from Washington University. Prior to joining SensorMedics he worked on nuclear medicine imaging technology and electronic circuitry development for the automotive industry. He currently serves on the board of directors of several privately held corporations.

Chief Executive Officer

William Zimlich was the former CEO of Activaero America, Inc.  Activaero is a pulmonary drug delivery technology company specializing in severe lung diseases and has just concluded a successful 225 patient study of its own proprietary drug compound.  Prior to joining Activaero, Mr. Zimlich was Vice President of Product Development for BattellePharma, a spin-off from Battelle Memorial Institute.  Bill co-founded the company on two technologies of which he was the lead inventor; Inhaled Chemotherapy and Electrohydrodynamics for Pulmonary Drug Delivery.  Before BPT, Bill worked for Battelle as a Program Director in Medical Product Development with clients such as Invacare, Johnson and Johnson, Abbott and Bristol Myers Squibb.  Subsequent to Battelle, Bill worked managerial, engineering, marketing and manufacturing roles for both large and small medical device companies.  Bill is published in Books, Journals and Encyclopedias on the subject of Pulmonary Drug Delivery.  He has over a dozen patents and pending patents.  He holds an engineering degree from The Ohio State University.

 


Chief Regulatory Officer

Barry Sugarman is a Senior Pharmaceutical Executive with over 32 years of public and private company experience in all aspects of business including domestic and international management, strategic planning, manufacturing, product development, quality control, quality assurance, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Good Clinical Practices (GCP’s), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP’s), regulatory affairs operations, engineering, new business development, marketing, and distribution. Licensed by California Board of Pharmacy, Supervisor of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing or Wholesale Operations, Mr. Sugarman was President of Liquipharm Inc, a manufacturer and distributor of pharmaceutical products.

Chief Business Officer

Alex Stenzler, (President, 12th Man Technologies) was the former VP Advanced Technologies for CareFusion Inc, (VIASYS, Cardinal Health). Mr. Stenzler brings more than 30 years of clinical and commercial experience in pulmonary medicine to his position. Mr. Stenzler has also held several academic appointments, including Assistant Professor at the State University of New York at Stonybrook and twelve years at the Graduate School of Adelphi University. He has published numerous papers and abstracts and has been an invited speaker at many national and international congresses. He also holds more than a dozen US patents for various technologies.


Chief Technology Officer

Steve Han brings more than 15 years of product development in medical and consumer products. He has worked with many medical companies such as CareFusion (formally Cardinal Health), Johnson and Johnson, Abbott Laboratories, and Philips (formally Respironics). He has extensive experience with both R&D, product development, manufacturing, designing equipment and assemblies, as well as injection molding for plastic and silicone. He has 4 US patents and 9 patents pending. He graduated with Provost Honors at University of California, San Diego with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.


Chief Development Officer

Michael Taylor is a senior medical device professional with over 18 years of public and private company experience in many aspects of business including strategic planning, business development, product management, project management, clinical services, marketing and customer care.  He has worked with many medical device companies such as VIASYS Healthcare, Cardinal Health, CareFusion and eResearch Technology.  He graduated from the University of Toledo with a BS in Exercise Science and completed coursework for MS in Exercise Physiology.
